UX Researcher/Designer (London)

Worrell is currently seeking a full-time UX Researcher/Designer to join our London office. As a UX Researcher & Designer at Worrell, you will be part of a team working to improve lives globally through design. Our work applies human-centered design and design thinking to better understand end-users and their context.

We deliver successful results on projects ranging from developing strategies for medical device companies to serve global communities, creating innovative solutions for pharmaceutical companies to better serve patients and healthcare providers, and observing in clinical spaces at hospitals to discover new ways for products and services to meet the needs of users.

We are a small, fast-moving team, and every day’s work is different. The problems we tackle on a daily basis require someone who can work independently but knows collaboration and asking for help are just as important to a successful design process.

We look for candidates with a broad range of skills. Foremost among these is the ability to connect and communicate with people, as you will be engaging with international colleagues, clients, and research participants on a daily basis. Examples may include conducting ethnographic interviews, making formal presentations on research insights or design concepts, or collaborating with colleagues in a co-creation or design review.

You must also be an adaptable designer, able to quickly and effectively convey ideas visually, whether as research outputs (personas, use case scenario mapping, final presentations), or design deliverables (mood boards, system diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, aesthetic concepts, etc.) One project may have you conducting observational research and interviews in an OR with physicians, while another may have you generating visual concepts for a new patient-facing mobile app. Being able to move seamlessly from independent to collaborative work, from one project to another is a key requirement for this role.

Job Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience working in user-centered design (research, UX, UI, or similar)
  • Design of research tools, ethnographic interviews, observation, usability testing, synthesis and analysis
  • Information architecture, wireframes, digital prototyping, aesthetic user interface graphics, etc.
  • Writing, speaking, critique, co-creation, presenting, etc.
  • Periodic travel

Software/Tools we rely on:

  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Microsoft Office
  • Keynote
  • Omnigraffle
  • Axure
  • Sketch

Bonus Points for Experience in the following areas:

  • Multi-lingual fluency
  • Augmented/Virtual Reality
  • Voice Experience Design (Alexa, Google Assistant, etc.)
  • Web/Mobile development (HTML5, CSS, iOS/Android)
