Clinical Specialist, RN

Worrell is seeking a Clinical Specialist, RN to bring the nursing experience directly into the design world. We are looking for a nurse who has had experience around a variety of medical devices and has worked closely with surgeons in the ER and OR. In this role, the Clinical Analyst acts as an SME, bringing clinical knowledge to medical device design research programs. You will participate in early-stage user needs assessments through direct stakeholder interviews and observing clinical procedures. You will synthesize fieldwork into common themes and actionable insights for our clients through productive brainstorming. You will also help facilitate broad ideation sessions by bringing first-hand field insights, deep clinical knowledge, and strategic thinking.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategize during the desk research phase to find themes and insights around project subject matter
  • Participate in design research activities including user interviews, heuristic evaluations, usability studies, field research, or other ethnographic techniques.
  • Conduct needs finding and needs validation activities
  • Create quality documentation and presentations
  • By building consensus, drive synthesis process based on research and analysis
  • Observe ways for surgical instruments to meet the needs of users
  • Deliver successful results on projects developing strategies for medical device companies to serve global communities
  • Create innovative solutions for med device and pharmaceutical companies to better serve patients and HCPs
  • Present research findings to the client in a creative and collaborative manner

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active RN degree
  • 3-5 years experience as a primary nurse in OR/surgical suite across multiple specialties
  • Experience interacting with a variety of medical devices including surgical tools, implants, drug delivery systems, and medical technology
  • High level of professional communication, including writing, speaking, and presentation skills
  • Strong demonstration of empathy, especially with users such as patients, families, and HCP’s
  • Interest in pursuing a career in medical device design
  • Passion for customer and patient experience
