The first step in Worrell's Design-Path™ user interface process is to conduct an audit of the current system to understand strengths and weaknesses. We then evaluate competitive products for market gaps and can conduct customer research including observation techniques (ethnography), quantitative techniques ( Censys® feature prioritization), process mapping and development of customer segmentation. We supplement this with currently understood technical specifications and evaluate new technical possibilities and develop a refined design brief.

Once a direction is established we will further develop the various pages of the navigation with final design hero screens. This includes typeface selection and icon development. From the human factors perspective we will incorporate appropriate heuristic principles and finalize sounds, colors and shapes.

The next step is to complete the process map and then develop up to three hero screen wire frame conceptual directions. If appropriate to the application we will develop paper prototypes and create interactive demos. We then create a final use case and develop navigational analogies.

In this stage we develop system compliant aesthetic graphics in all states such as up, down, etc. We export audio files and create final process maps. We also document standards to include fonts, color, button placement and iconography art.
