1.Worrell Inc. Invited to Headline An American Chamber of Commerce (Amcham) Luncheon, on Branding from the Product Out
Shanghai, China, May 21, 2008Invited by Amcham (American Chamber of Commerce), Kai Robert Worrell, international president of Worrell Inc. delivered a co-speech on “Branding from product out” with Joe Ranieri, CEO of Crocs-China.

The Chinese consumers, like consumers in the rest of the world, use products, services and experiences to help define pieces of their identity. The problem in China is that consumers aren’t sure what their identity is, which a symptom of society as a whole is struggling to embrace a common value set. With rapid change and an amazing amount of international culture importation, the market landscape is chaotic and fickle.
Joe Ranieri and Kai Robert Worrell presented the foundational steps of how to connect emotionally with the Chinese consumer, design empathetically, and build brand message through a consistent and relevant story telling process.
2. Success in the China market
Shanghai, China, April 28, 2008Designed by Worrell, the Honeywell Halo thermostat has proven Worrell's design and innovation methods excel in the China market as Halo has sold with impressive momentum, leading its category. “Halo thermostat looks fashionable and simple, it makes us feel proud of our environment”, said one Honeywell high-end office building customer.

The Halo thermostat is one of the first products Worrell designed exclusively for the China market. It is designed to adapt to Chinese government requirements on energy savings, meanwhile, it has satisfied the special requirements for public buildings with temperature control, and more, it has solved the problems with retro-fit and installation.
Worrell has continued to deepen cooperation with Honeywell in recent years around the globe. Performance has been at the heart of the relationship with highly successful product launches for Honeywell's Environmental Controls and Avionics business units.
3.Proactive Retailing – Worrell Inc. Invited to Speak at BEST BUY’s Annual Vendor Conference in Shanghai
Shanghai, China, April 10, 2008Mr. Kai Worrell was invited to speak at Best Buy’s Annual Vendor Conference in Shanghai, China. As one of only two outside groups invited to speak at the conference, it was an honor to be placed in front of Best Buy’s preferred suppliers, some of the most sophisticated manufacturers in the world.

Noting Worrell’s unique position to work closely with Best Buy’s Exclusive Brand team in the Minneapolis Headquarters, the sourcing team in the Asia headquarters as well as our work along side Best Buy’s Preferred Suppliers, Worrell connects all those meaningful interactions with our deep experience exploring the psychology and personality of Best Buy’s consumers. Worrell was able to draw some rich insights that translate into real business outcomes for Best Buy’s partners.
Worrell’s speech was focused on Proactive Retailing citing Best Buy’s bold moves with Exclusive Brand product development as one indication of how this retailer doesn’t follow trends, but sets them.
Mr. Worrell articulated Worrell’s belief that to successfully drive your company into new markets and international markets you must first understand the heart of the end user. By building empathy for those that you will serve you can design a product that reflects the soul of its creator.
Worrell encouraged these companies to take a proactive approach to partnering with Best Buy by developing processes on the front end of product development to focus their efforts. Whether for Western or Asian markets, consumer behavior is difficult to predict given the rational and emotional drivers connected to a discretionary technology purchase.
Inciting wisdom from Edwards Deming and Hu Jing Tao, Worrell drove home the message that the hero’s of business in the 21st century would be those that could develop systematic methods of gaining an intimate knowledge of the consumer behavior.

Minneapolis, Minn., February 15, 2008A new music cell phone jacket designed by Worrell Inc.’s Montreal office, formerly Gad Shaanan Design was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Two fully functional jacket prototypes were produced to interface with the much-anticipated modu, a small, modular cell phone that can slip into a variety of jackets, each of which provide added functionality and a new aesthetic. Sleek and sophisticated, modu is, by itself, a cell phone. Users can slip modu into device jackets such as MP3 players, GPS devices, bigger cell phones, car stereos or digital cameras —basically, any modu-enabled consumer electronic. This mobile device platform is set to launch in Russia, Italy and Israel in October 2008.

“Our Montreal design, engineering and prototype team produced these exquisite functioning prototypes that brought the Modu concept to life,” says Bob Worrell, Founder and CEO of Worrell Inc. Anton Drukh, Project Manager of Value Added Products at Modu added, “ We would have had a very hard time convincing our future partners of the full potential behind the Modu idea, if it were not for the jackets we created together.”
Formerly InFone Tech, Modu is an Israeli startup founded by Dov Moran. Moran’s previous company pioneered the concept of the USB flash drive. Moran chose to unveil modu at the Mobile World Congress 2008, an event that is attended by more than 55,000 visitors and is viewed as the world’s premier mobile event.
